Shanita is an orphan who lost both her parents to HIV/AIDS. Her parents were peasants who used to cultivate crops for home use and for sale, and so had nothing to leave for their children’s support. Shanita and her 3 siblings were being cared for by a relative within the same village of Bugono, but when we heard about Shanita, none of the children was attending school because their relative was not able to pay for their school expenses.

Shanita is now happy at Dream Children’s Home with her needs met, and she feels it is the right place for her to stay.
